To bring you the most genuine advice on the MRCGP AKT, we have worked closely with our existing WellMedic GP trainees to improve our course content. As a new feature on our existing “Your AKT Podcast – Pass the AKT” we have started our #AKTReflection series, which shall focus on conversations with trainees that have passed the MRCGP AKT in the last twelve months.
In our very first episode, I am joined by Dr Hashim, a newly qualified GP who has recently achieved her MRCGP through the Pennine GP training scheme in the North West of England.

Dr Hashim shares why she felt that her experience has been positive despite failing initially. She feels that, luckily passing would not have given her the ability to focus on a broader knowledge base, which has helped her become a more confident GP.
She sat the MRCGP AKT and RCA in close succession and shared why this helped her RCA sitting, which she passed on her first attempt.
In her first attempt, she relied on question banks exclusively. In her second attempt, she found a group, and they worked together to pass their MRCGP AKT.
Dr Hashim is an IMG from the University of Rawalpindi, Pakistan. She shares her reflections on how IMGs must adjust to the unique challenges of the MRCGP AKT.
